Item Description
Plain cardboard slipcase (w/"Light Tan Strap" label affixed to side) contains 2.25x4-5/8x1" cardboard box w/thin paper hinged lid featuring specialty art of Smitty showing watch to Herby. Art is signed by Smitty creator Berndt. New Haven Clock Company, 1935. Slipcase shows just lt. wear and is VF. Box is complete w/flocked die-cut insert and two aged slips, one from New Haven and other is inspection slip. Box has just lt. corner tip wear and lid has some dust soling but remains bright and clean w/fully intact hinge. Box is VF/Exc. 1-1/8x1.5" chrome luster metal case watch comes w/original lt. tan leather bands. Dial features full body Smitty image on dial. Band is Exc. while case has full luster and is NM. Dial has some lt. wear and lt. age spotting. VF overall. Unused, old store stock. One of the rarest character watches and w/extremely rare box, this is only the fourth we've offered in our 50 years, this by far the best condition example we've ever seen.
