Item Description
This 2" dia. pocketwatch is unmarked but 1930s and totally different from Ingersoll's 1934 Three Little Pigs pocketwatch (see item #1638). This is shown in several character watch books but little is known about it (some call it a prototype, but it could as easily be a piece that just never went into production for whatever reason). It is w/o doubt vintage and of high quality w/enameled metal dial showing Practical Pig playing piano and Fifer Pig and Fiddler Pig play their respective instruments w/"Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf" text. There are three known examples of this pocketwatch, each w/different bkg. color, this being cream color variety. Silver luster shows scattered wear, w/more moderate wear along left side, w/luster missing and brass showing. Edges of case around crystal and on back have some scattered luster wear as well, though much luster still remains. Case is Fine overall. Dial is NM. Works. A true rarity for both Disneyana and watch collectors.
