Item Description
3x4.5" stiff paper card folder opens to 8.75" in length. c. 1946. Front features image of Superman and text notes that recipient of this card is "An Official Reporter For Superman-Tim" magazine. Designated area for name and address has been neatly filled out in ink. Card opens to reveal two panels of 12 numbered squares where poster stamps were to be mounted. These stamps feature different Superman illustrations plus secret codes which were to be decoded using code charts on the back of this card. Total of four stamps have been applied, but only stamp #8 is in correct location. Stamps #4, 6-7 are in incorrect spaces. Stamps #2-3, 8-9 are loose, never mounted. Back of card along w/code information has Tim portrait and block for "Reporter's Photograph" although this is unused. Card has lt. aging and wear. Overall VF. Franco Toscanini Collection.
