Item Description
Original envelope w/illustrated "Superman-Tim" return address comes w/two 8.5x11" typed letters; one dated March 12, 1946 and addressed to same name as on envelope. Letter also has "Wells & Coverly, Inc. - Superman-Tim Store" text matching envelope. Letter features faint bkg. image of Superman and mentions gift of "Birthday Pie" and wishes recipient a happy birthday. Folded as issued w/additional vertical fold at center, letter has lt. even aging and is VF/Exc. Envelope shows obvious wear w/some moisture staining and tears/pieces missing along top. Good/VG. Additional letter dated Jan. 13, 1944 comes along and is addressed to different recipient but has same "Wells & Coverly, Inc." imprint. This letter also mentions "Birthday Pie" and notes to "Write Right Away!" to order said pie, w/options at lower left including Apple, Raisin and Mince. Raisin and Mince have been crossed out in pencil. Three holes punched along left w/slight pulls. Letter has been folded as mailed and is evenly aged. VG. Both letters are scarce.
