Item Description
16.25x21.25" newspaper page from the Nov. 3, 1939 issue of the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch," an issue featuring a follow-up teaser ad to previous item #1817. Page features large 9.75x14" ad area showing same image of Superman but w/slightly different text. Some of note includes - "Superman Runs Faster Than An Express Train... Bullets Bounce Harmlessly Off His Iron Muscles. He Can Outswim A Speedboat And Leap Over Skyscrapers. And Always Superman Crusades Against The Forces Of Evil And Defends The Unfortunate And Oppressed." Page has lt. horizontal crease at center as folded and left margin shows some minor unevenness as removed from newspaper (not affecting text or image). Margins also exhibit some age tanning but overall, page remains very clean and would make for an incredible Exc. display if framed. Choice condition example of this very important historical piece in the history of Superman in newspapers. Rare. Franco Toscanini Collection.
