Item Description
Very large 31.5x90.25" frame contains mural depicting three large, full body images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Pluto, each surrounded by smaller scale versions of the same images as well as additional images of the three w/varying facial portraits and smaller, different full body images. Bottom is marked © Walt Disney Productions and was produced by W.L. Stensgaard and Associates Inc. Mural comes w/original envelope w/illustrated "Walt Disney Productions" return address that contains 8.5x11" typed letter on matching "Walt Disney Productions - 16 Millimeter Film Division" letterhead. Latter is dated May 16, 1956 and is addressed to owner of Philadelphia, PA theater. Letter notes approx. 100 of these large murals were distributed to theaters and makes inquiry if theater is planning on keeping mural, and if so, notes that invoice will follow. Letter has been signed in ink by Carl Nater, Director of Disney 16mm Film Division. Folded as mailed, Exc. Mural shows some scattered wear w/some surface rippling at right and scattered margin wear including pinholes from display mounting. Fine overall. Rare mural, this being the first we've seen in our 50 years. Great display piece for any Disney collection. Due to size and/or weight of this lot, shipping charges may be substantial.
