Item Description
Pre-concert 24x36" original printing large format poster on stiff paper poster for the Woodstock Music & Art Fair that took place Aug. 15-17, 1969 in White Lake, NY at Max Yasgur's dairy farm in the Catskills. Advertises as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days Of Peace & Music," poster features artist Arnold Skolnick's classic design featuring guitar, hand and dove. Performers listed include - Joan Baez; Arlo Guthrie; Richie Havens; Incredible String Band; Ravi Shankar; Sly and the Family Stone; Sweetwater; Canned Heat; Creedence Clearwater Revival; Grateful Dead; Janis Joplin; Jefferson Airplane; Mountain; Santana; The Who; The Band; Jeff Beck Group; Blood, Sweat & Tears; Crosby, Stills & Nash; Jimi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter and others. Poster also lists various activities over the three-day period of the event. Poster is rolled and has some scattered edge wear w/three spots of wear along right margin. Lower left corner has some faint creases. Left margin has barely visible printing line running length of poster, 1-1/8" from left edge. There is another printing line running length of poster, 5-3/8" from right edge and of the same minuscule nature. Both are only visible in reflected light or under close inspection and do not detract from poster's overall appearance. VF overall, but still a high grade example of this classic poster.
