15.5x22.5" file copy cover proof and positive film set by Saalfield Publishing Co. copyright 1954 KFS Inc. Front cover proof is designed to cut and fold like a pair of castle doors that opened at center. Attached to this would have been a pair of 11" tall thick diecut cardboard paperdolls. Cover opened to reveal six pages of cut-out outfits and accessories, all in four color and include a different scene illustration along bottom margin such as jousting, sailing, etc. All outfits were very detailed and included weapons for Prince Valiant. Proof is stamped "4-125 APR 19 1954" w/ lt. edge wear, lt. creasing and aged tape residue from use. Displays VF. Includes positive four color printer's film for cover #4321:25 and six pages of paper doll costumes as well as cover for alternate version of this book #2616. Film is VF overall. Proof and film are unique from the Saalfield Publishing archives.
