Item Description
10x11.5" artboard. Pen & ink. c. 1940s. Signed by artist Vernon B. Greene who drew "The Shadow" daily comic strip from 1938-1942, but this is of lesser-known character "Mac The Medic." This was set during WWII and covers the exploits of Mac, a medic in the Army. Close inspection shows the original text coming from the radio was "HI-HO Silver." This was then "whited out" and changed to "HI-YO Silver," as was the more common use of the term. Also has some sketches on the back. Exc.
