Item Description
Sizes are 1.75" for five smaller up to 3" for Apollo 11 button showing eagle landing on moon with the remaining seven all 3.5". Buttons encompass the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs. First four are from Glenn's first ever orbital flight in Feb. 1962. Second button has small age marks on reverse edge and a small .25" hairline cello split on back. Next is rarely seen button for Schirra's six orbit flight Oct. 3, 1962. Small light tan age mark at far right 3 o'clock. Schirra was the only astronaut to fly in all three of the moon landing programs. Sixth button is for Cooper's 22 orbit flight in Faith 7, the longest and last of the Mercury flights occurring May 15-16, 1963.  Seventh and eighth buttons are for first American Gemini flight of Grissom and Young in 1965. Ninth is for Gemini 4, featuring the first American walk in space in June, 1965. Tenth is for Apollo 8, the first flight around the moon. Some variation in red and blue colors on rim edge as printed, Last five buttons are for historic July, 1969 moon landing. The button with gold edge and gold wreath is particularly scarce. All are Exc. to NM with two exceptions noted.
