Item Description
7" long. Pennsylvania issued 1856 ribbon w/eagle and rays above and additional text "Once More Our Glorious Banner Out, Upon The Breeze We Throw, Beneath Its Folds With Song And Shout, Let's Charge Upon The Foe." Toning along top 1" w/loss at right and horizontal near complete separation affecting the very top edge of border design. Eagle motif has tiny pulls affecting the tip of the wings. VG. Otherwise only scattered tan dots of age staining blending evenly. Sullivan/Fischer list only 14 varieties of Fillmore ribbons and this unlisted rarity is the only example we have encountered in our 50 years. Leon Rowe Collection.
