Item Description
First is a 3" tall cardboard box picturing and with front title "General Douglas MacArthur". Missing the top end flap but with bottom flap intact naming Pioneer Specialty Co., Brooklyn. One side of box reads "Candy And Toy" while opposite side reads "Buy U.S. War Bonds & Stamps." Fine. Second is a plastic holder for a book of matches. On interior of clear lid is a bw paper photo of him. Small lines of glue to the left and right have dried out so that the picture is actually loose but it could be easily reattached if desired. The open area at the bottom where the striker would be positioned includes maker name "Neva-Clog Products, Inc." Next is a sterling silver bracelet. Top has anchor logo of "USA" navy. This opens to reveal paper inserts, one of Mac saluting and the other reading "God Bless You And Keep You My Dear".  Next is a second sterling bracelet by the same maker but this with an army logo on the cover. This includes the name "Harry Speciner" along with his eight digit serial number and the underside of the piece is engraved "To My Uncle With Love Patricia Ellen Dec. 1943." Next is a single blade knife 5.25" long when opened. One side of the grip is pearlized and other side is white with b/w photo of "General MacArthur." For some reason there is spring tension that prevents the blade from folding entirely into the case. When the blade is folded shut the point still remains elevated about ¼" above the case edge. First example we've seen. Next is 3-7/8" long bullet shaped pencil with celluloid wrap including his portrait, name, flags and "V" for Victory symbols. Next is a gold plastic base ring with inset real glossy photo of him in uniform. These were sold off of cards in stores in the post WWII late 1940s. Last is a 7" long wood pencil that includes his picture and the primary slogan "America's Most Popular Hero Gen. Douglas MacArthur" along with a smaller text slogan where the eraser should be that reads "Rubber Once Used For Erasers, Now Used To 'Rub Out' Japs!" Tiny bit of age tone to the paint but unused. Except as noted, items are Exc. to Mint. Numerous rarities.
