Item Description
17x22" on pale green newsprint. Broadside for "The National Reform Party" announcing results from the "Cleveland Convention" that nominated "For President Green Clay Smith Of Kentucky" and "For Vice President Gideon T. Stevens Of Ohio." A .5" area of margin has been trimmed off about two thirds of the left edge. The bottom 7.5" has been reattached w/archival tape on reverse. Less than 1x1.25" area of loss at top center, four vertical and six horizontal folds w/a 7" vertical separation along fold just left of the "R" in "Reform." Good. Green Clay Smith was a Major General in the Union army and served as Congressmen from Kentucky.  In 1866 he was appointed the Territorial Governor of Montana. A rare artifact from what is only the second Presidential campaign of the Prohibition Party, one w/the national ticket receiving only 6,743 votes.
