Item Description
15x20" w/"Printed By W. B. Cooper" at bottom left and "Designed & Lithographed By A. Hoffy, Philadelphia" at bottom right. Featuring a standing portrait of Polk in a large hall w/three ships visible through an opening in the background. At left is a table w/ink well and documents that Polk gestures towards. Additional text at bottom center "Published By Barnard & Freeman - Nashville Tennessee December 1844."  Condition issues include: pin holes in margins at bottom and top right and left; horizontal folds that break the surface paper; margin losses at bottom right and top right and left corners; tears most notable at bottom right just affecting the corner of the design and a 1.5" vertical at top center, scattered tan stains and overall moderate age toning. Good. A rare print that would benefit from attention by a skilled conservator.
