Item Description
20x26" and 20x24". Howell is known for his illustrations featuring clowns and produced a series of images featuring Nixon in 1973. Included here are "Ship Of Fools" w/Nixon on a ship of clowns mimicking the famous painting of George Washington crossing the Delaware and an untitled work featuring Nixon at the wheel of a jalopy w/a flat tire being serviced by a group of clowns. A couple tiny dots of light brown toning along lower right margin of each. Otherwise only trivial handling. Exc. and will display Mint when framed. Fred Noye Collection.
