Item Description
First is a rare personally designed button by a female student at Princeton University in 1970. The button with stylized date and peace symbol is 1.75". Only the second we've seen and the first was badly stained. Curl of the button has copyright symbol and reads "Sue Jean Lee/Class Of 1970/Princeton Univ." Lee, who died in 2011, was one of the first female graduates of Princeton and the first woman to be in the cast of the Triangle Club. This button was a personal issue very limited in distribution. NM displaying Mint. Only example in the Levin Collection. Second is big 4" striking color button c. 1968-1972. The word "PEACE" is missing the "A" with the space filled in by small text "Let's Put The "A" Back In Peace". Below in the word "WAR" is a patriotic letter "A" at the middle of otherwise decimated letters. No maker's name. One of only three in the Levin Collection. Next c. mid-1960s is 15/16" peace dove next to hand grenade. Text "The Struggle For Peace". Last is 1" from early 1960s showing Jesus with text "Good Will Crusaders/For World Peace". All four are NM displaying Mint. Levin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
