Item Description
14.75x15" screen printed linen flag on original 36" long wooden stick. Designed to resemble the iconic flag waved at the finish of auto races and featuring portraits of the Democratic presidential candidates along w/Henry Schricker, running for the US Senate, and John Watkins, running for Governor. Last names of 10 additional state candidates in each of the white fields and emblazoned at center is "A Democratic Victory 1952." Trivial light handling wear. NM. Of the three other examples known to us this specimen would represent an upgrade to each. This flag has it all- jugate, coattail, high grade, and a powerful design that cross references the Indianapolis 500, the most famous American auto race. Simply put, just an outstanding Adlai Stevenson campaign artifact.
