Item Description
5-3/8" long. Gigantic gold bug made of heavy cast brass w/hollow underside holding the largest spring pin we've ever seen measuring 3.75" long. Bugs of this size were used by pinning them to the saddle blankets of horses partaking in McKinley campaign parades. Original pin has been re-soldered. A clean example that has begun to take on some rainbow toning in reflected light. NM. Only the fifth example of this largest known pin size we have encountered in our 50 years.
