Item Description
Pair of 10.5x16" artboards features artist Don Perlin's pen and ink original art for page 26 of the Oct. 1974 issue of "Werewolf By Night" #22 and page 27 of the Nov. 1974 issue of "Werewolf By Night" #23, both published by Marvel Comics. Perlin is a comic book artist and occasional writer best known for Marvel Comics' "Werewolf by Night, The Defenders" and "Ghost Rider." Issue #22 page features five panels, showing disfigured actor Atlas (created by Perlin and Doug Moench) attacking and seemingly killing the director he blames for his disfigurement. Bottom has taped text strip announcing upcoming "War Is Hell!" title. Second panel has partial text paste-over. Upper right corner has moderate moisture staining in 2.5x3.75" area. Strip of tape staining at top center. Fine overall. Issue #23 page features three panels, showing Atlas about to kill "Werewolf By Night" main character Jack (in werewolf form) in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, only to be saved by Buck, who shoots Atlas in the back w/the silver bullet Jack meant Buck to use on him. Of note, the foreground features some of the famed celebrity handprints, including Bela Lugosi and Henry Hull, who played a werewolf in the 1935 horror film "Werewolf Of London." Upper right corner has moderate moisture staining in 1.25x3.25" area. Strips of tape staining at top/bottom center. Fine overall.
