Item Description
2" dia. pocket watch w/silver luster metal case w/plain back that snaps open to reveal winding mechanism. According to an Ingersoll magazine ad, they sold at 20 booths at the Pan-American Exposition; including four different models, offered at prices from $1 to $20 and having nickel, gilt, black, oxidized silver or gold plate finishes (known as the "Yankee" model). This is the nickel plated model. Dial reads "Pan American Exposition 1901 - Buffalo N.Y. U.S.A." and features wonderful design of two women, representing North and South America. Dial has second dial at bottom center. Slight fade of blue bkg. but o/w Exc. Plating shows scattered wear w/some brass showing along edges and to bezel/loop. Running. Cataloged as WA01 in Fred Lavin's reference book "Panorama Of The Pan-Am." Scarce.
