Item Description
Addressed to "I. Florman" who Truman thanks for a vest pocket watch stating "I Have Always Wanted One Of Them, And I Shall Think Of You Every Time I Try To See What Time It Is." Signed at conclusion "Harry Truman" in black fountain pen ink. Irving Florman would later be appointed by Truman to be the US Ambassador to Bolivia. A less than .25" chip at extreme edge top left side and an 1/8" chip along top edge at right. Two horizontal mailing folds and moderate age toning of paper. Fine. Dated January 24, 1945, only four days after assuming the office of Vice President. Less than three months later on April 12, Truman was President making signatures on Vice Presidential stationery scarce. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA/LOA.
