Item Description
Lot of three items issued by Circus Saints & Sinners Club of America charity organization of Baltimore, MD for 1957 event featuring American professional boxer Rocky Marciano as "'Fall Guy'" in event held at Emerson Hotel in Baltimore to benefit Baltimore Police Boys Club. Marciano competed from 1947 to 1955, holding the World Heavyweight title from 1952 to 1956. He went undefeated in his career and defended the title six times. Lot includes souvenir pair of miniature leather boxing gloves w/keychain reading "Saints & Sinner Of Balto." as well as listing Marciano's name, "'Fall Guy'" title and Sept. 20, 1957 date. One glove has a few tiny holes as made, o/w Exc. 4" dia. glossy pinback button features clown image and charity name as well as "Ringling Bros. Tent Of Baltimore" designation. Button has area provided for recipient's name, which has been applied w/embossed plastic strip. Button has lt. surface wear but remains totally glossy and Exc. overall. Die-cut table/ticket card features hand-lettered matching name as seen on button. Card has removed stub line along bottom as intended and lists details about Sept. 1957 event. Back has been boldly signed in black ink by Marciano. Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
