Item Description
13-7/8x 16.75" frame contains original publicity photo for 1949 British romantic drama, based on a novel by H.G. Wells (this the second film Rains starred in based on the author's work). Photo shows film star Claude Rains, English film and stage actor who is perhaps best known to American audiences for his performances in Universal horror films "The Invisible Man" (1933), "The Wolf Man" (1941), "Phantom Of The Opera" (1943) as well as for his role as Captain Renault in "Casablanca" (1942). Photo has been inscribed/signed by Rains in black felt tip pen along bottom margin, which shows some handling wear. Photo is Fine overall, while Rains' signature displays VF w/corner crease running through his last name. Still makes for nice display as professionally double-matted and framed. Ready for display. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
