Item Description
15.5" tall figure w/wooden arms/legs and painted composition body and head. Designed by artist Maxfield Parrish and manufactured by Cameo Doll Co. for store display purposes w/slotted hands that held advertising cards. c. 1930s. "RCA Radiotrons" text is repeated on front/back on red sash decal as well as decal on hat band. Body has typical craze lines w/1/8x3/8" flake off bottom edge of back of coat which has color touch-up. Face has had professional restoration plus additional minor scattered restoration, including to sash decal. Scattered lt. wear/aging w/two tiny flakes under sash on front of body. Fine overall. Wonderful design w/impish grin and wood-painted hat in the shape of a radio tube. Classic advertising item. Jan Wahl Collection.
