Item Description
Lot of seven different, each 6x8" thin artboard sheet w/pen and ink original art and hand-lettered text. Each has attached overlay sheet w/some red color accents that were to be added to the printed product. In 1952 Bowman issued this series featuring comedy legend Milton Berle. ACC #R701-1. Wrapper design featured an image of Berle wearing crown and coming out of TV set. Each pack contained a "comic" sheet that was wrapped around the gum and this art represents seven of those "comics." Great images of him as Confucius, an artist, child, in swimsuit, etc. Humorous text includes "Pa Says If Ida Wears Her New Jersey, What Will Dela-ware." Sheets are lightly aged but art remains Exc. This series likely had a short run accounting for its scarcity. As scarce as the actual series is, all in this lot is one of a kind.
