Item Description
1.5" w/W&H back paper. Slogan at top reads "The Spirit Of The Republic Success." Central design features TR at right approaching a gate w/three slats labeled "Prejudice/ Lawlessness/ Injustice." TR clutches a top hat in his right hand and extends his left towards Uncle Sam who is lifting the first slat of the gate.  In the distance the US Capitol dome emerges from the clouds w/rays of sun light around. Below we see TR's path is labeled "1904" and a banner at bottom reads "President Of All The People." Scattered light brown spots of toning contained to the extreme outer edges at 1, 3, 6 and between 9-11 o'clock. None of these interrupt the central design and overall they detract minimally. Otherwise only light surface wear and a few surface bumps to touch that remain otherwise invisible. Technically VF by our strict standards though we note that this piece is 100% structurally sound w/the central design remaining totally clean having bright color, perfect centering and full gloss. In our opinion this is the most outstanding 1904 campaign button featuring TR and is easily in the running for the most outstanding campaign button design ever produced. A special opportunity to obtain an impressive example of a premier rarity.
