Item Description
Each of these is a 5" diameter brass shell. Two have the same front text and "An Honest Dollar" hanger, but there the similarities end.  All five, as almost always occurs, have some degree of flattening of McKinley's portrait with the first and last in this group the most severe. Each has a cardboard back with the four campaign items made by Jas. Murdock, Jr of Cincinnati and the inaugural (fourth in group) stating "Copyrighted 1897 By W. Brown 22 Ann St. N.Y. City". Added text is "The Gown Mrs. McKinley Will Wear At Her Husband's Inauguration". 3/16" surface paper dot off top .5" hairline break in the cardboard to the right of her face. First time we've seen this and front text is "Maj. Wm. McKinley Inaugurated President Mar. 4th 1897" Rare and Fine. Of the remaining four items, all reverses are different and we've never seen the third and fifth items before. Third item has, as issued, a cardboard easel (unseen is a replacement tape strip joining easel to back). Fifth item has hanger different than first and second items and back has text declaring "Third U.S. Victorious War President" and "Four More Years" so this is from 1900 campaign. All are Fine to VF with last three of five rare.
