Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" up to 2.25". All are celluloid buttons with the exception of a pair at the end of row three which are figural basketballs made of brass each with a suspended megaphone below. One ball carries initial "A" and the other initial "N". Each has a bar pin on the reverse and name of a maker in Massachusetts. First four buttons include ribbon suspensions holding highly domed figural brass basketball attachments. Ribbons on these show wear but are intact. First two items name college "Washington & Lee" and are from 1926-1927. Fourth item in row one is noticeably stained but the other buttons in the group are extremely clean and NM to Mint with the exception of the row two "Hornets" button which has a paper covering rather than cello with a couple of small white marks on the paper. Very nice group with a vast majority of the pieces from the 1930s.
