Item Description
Button sizes are 7/8" to 2.25". Eight of the items in the group are dated 1930 up to 1968. We believe the first button reading "Boston All-Stars" relates to the exhibition basketball game played March 2, 1951 at Boston Garden. This was the first National Basketball Association All-Star Game played during the 1950-51 season. Second button reading "All-Stars" may be from the same event. This button has both ribbons and a slightly deformed fully figural rubber basketball suspended below. Next are three items from Glens Falls with two of these holding a brass frame that has cardboard insert naming a coach. Dates on these are 1930, 1933 and 1937. Another interesting piece is row 2, #2, a figural basketball button with text "All-American Basketball Game/Sponsored By CYO/Roosevelt Stadium/Jersey City, N.J. June 29, 1960." Next to this is a "Press" button for the "Southern Conference/1964 Basketball Tournament Charlotte Coliseum." This has speck of cello off at 3 o'clock and a few small tan dots on extreme rim edge. Other than this all items are Exc. to Mint.
