Item Description
16x21" sheet of bond paper has detailed pencil original art by legendary Fantasy/Sci-Fi and comic book artist Greg Hildebrandt. Created for Unicorn Publishing's 1985 edition of L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz" (part of the Unicorn Heirloom Series). Hildebrandt, a huge Oz fan, made the classic characters his own, setting his vision apart from that of the classic 1939 MGM film. Art shows Dorothy and Toto, saying goodbye to Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, w/Dorothy hugging Scarecrow. Hildebrandt's composition perfectly compliments these characters. Art has been signed in pencil by Hildebrandt at bottom left. Margins have been trimmed, but art remains NM.
