Item Description
8.5x12-5/8" Craftint artboard w/pen and ink original art by "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" co-creator Kevin Eastman w/inks/wash by Bob McLeod. Art was featured as the "Pin-Up Page" inside back cover of "Michelangelo" #1 comic book published by Mirage Studios in Dec. 1985. Art features all four Ninja Turtles perched on a ledge above mugger attempting to rob couple in a New York City alleyway. One of the Turtles helps hold Donatello as he cracks mugger in the head w/his bo staff. Of note, left of ledge has "Miller's Tavern" sign, a subtle nod to the creator whose work inspired Eastman and Laird to create the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Frank Miller. Both Eastman and McLeod have signed at upper right, McLeod adding "'85" date. Back of board has black felt tip pen Turtle sketch by Eastman, who has also inscribed and signed the back. Board is lightly aged w/some minor corner tip wear, but art remains Exc. Great early published Turtle art.
