Item Description
11x17" Blue Line artboard has pen and ink original art on 8-3/8x13-1/8" vellum panel applied to center. Art is by legendary Spider-Man artist John Romita Sr. and shows Romita's preliminary cover sketch for "X-Men" Vol. 2 #100, published by Marvel in May 2000. This issue featured several different covers as it was a "Giant Sized Special" and Romita's preliminary cover featuring Neo Warclan member Jaeger standing triumphant over X-Men members Rogue, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat and Psylocke was very similar in layout to that of published cover featuring art by Leinil Francis Yu that was sold as a retailer variant cover (1:20) and as a Dynamic Forces Chrome variant). Romita himself never provided art for any issues of "X-Men." has boldly signed at lower right in black felt tip pen. NM.
