Item Description
Original generic carton 17x27x3" deep has general wear and three corner splits but VG. There is partially readable Los Angeles address on a side panel and an end panel has text in marker "1Unit-Happy Buttons". No maker's name.  Unit is heavy cardboard standing 25" tall with large easel on reverse plus five square columns divided into 20 sections each holding 20 buttons for 400 total. The unit's front has title in psychedelic lettering at the top above a pinned on example of each button with arrow design pointing down to an open slot that allows individual buttons to be selected. Each button is a 1-1/8" litho vacuum sealed by thin plastic over a square of cardboard. The top 4" of the display header has some horizontal creasing and corner bends with additional very minor surface paper creasing to the left and right of each open slot. The header creases were caused by shifting of the unit within the carton but all remains totally clean and bright with no age/dust soiling.  Nine of the slogans refer to "Love" or a sexual theme, several slogans reference poverty and/or work, and a few specific examples include "Unbutton", "Stamp Out Reality" and the era's classic "Take A Hippie To Lunch". Buttons are Mint and unused display is VF. Only example known to us.
