Item Description
10” long metal gun by Daisy Mfg. Co. 1946. Atomic pistol U-238 with gold finish, identical to U-235, that gun came in silver or black finish. Incised lightly on left body is name and small Buck Rogers image. Has pair of red plastic windows to see spark when trigger is pulled. Gun no longer sparks but still produces a loud pop firing sound. Scattered gold finish loss, mostly confined to raised areas and two .25” areas, one on left-hand side top and other behind red plastic windows on right. Fine. Comes with matching nice quality leather holster by Daisy measuring 5x7”, attached 27” long belt with buckle and pair of 11” long accent tassels. Holster has raised lettering “Buck Rogers Atomic Pistol” with cloud designs, back panel has additional stamped-in designs of clouds, planets and stars. Traces of tarnish/rust to a few of the rivets. Buckle retains full bright luster. Fine with VF appearance. Holster is much rarer than gun. Comes with a publication entitled “Children’s Activities” from November, 1946 which features the back cover ad for “New Buck Rogers No. U-238 Atomic Pistol Holster Set.” Shows illustration of Buck and Wilma as well as illustrations of gun, holster and holster set box.
