Item Description
This big and bold 4" button appears in the book's section devoted to advertising as item #113 on page 304. No maker but an extremely well made button with lustrous brass back reverse and a channel holding the bar pin. Button was likely issued in 1959 or slightly later when Veeck became head of a group that purchased a controlling interest in the Chicago White Sox. Button promotes "Veeck's Own Socko Story/Starts July 8/Chicago Tribune." Trivial surface wear in reflected light. Exc. and displays Mint.
