Item Description
High quality suit by Esquire Novelty Co. ©1952. Shirt measures 14.5” long and is almost entirely comprised of suede-like material with linen backing. Has red piping accents and shoulder pieces are thin blue plastic. Attached belt unit with silk-screened design on front of Flash Gordon on a rocket-firing raygun with name on either side. Shirt has scattered fading, area of discoloration on back and cracks at shoulder pieces. VG. Comes with 8” dia. mesh cap with felt border and thin plastic “wings” repeating image from shirt belt. Plastic wings have rippling with age and have partially come loose. Top of cap has a star design jewel-like fixture with wire circle topper. VG. Comes with suede-like boot and wrist cuffs, each done in style similar to shirt with additional space/planet themes. Each pair are VF/Exc. Vinyl belt with “Flash Gordon” text and images including spaceships, planets and spacemen on belt with a plastic die-cut belt buckle showing rocketship in circle design. Light aging. VF/Exc. Also included are plastic space goggles with repeated rocketship and circle design matching the belt buckle. Elastic band has some rust to metal fasteners and a .5” crack at bridge of nose to goggles. Fine.
