Item Description
8-3/8x11" typed letter on "Ives, Blakeslee & Williams Co." letterhead featuring image of factory and is dated Aug. 1891. Letterhead also notes company's products, which included "Mechanical Toys, Games, Novelties, Base Ball Supplies, Toy Pistols, Cannon, Etc." Letter is addressed to Mr. Conrad Mauler (whose family ran a wholesale toy distributing company in the Baltimore area from 1889 through the 1950s) and pertains to him missing the viewing of the company's salesman's samples when he was in Baltimore and how now he was to examine the enclosed catalog and order from there. Letter has some red ink staining at upper left and scattered age spotting. Remnants of price sticker at upper left. Fine overall.
