Item Description
2-1/8" dia. F.E. Roskopf Swiss railroad Open Face stem wind pin set pocket watch w/great image of "Legitimo" locomotive on nickel-played case back along w/F. E. Roskopf company logo and raised "Legitimo" name on case edge. These watches were produced in the early 1900s and sold to employees of railways, mostly in the Belgian network. Swing-Out case back opens to reveal original inner case label and glass duct cover over movement w/trace remnants of company/model name printed across it. Movement features company logo as well as patent number. Additional text notes the 1900 Exposition Universelle held in Paris, France. Raised Portuguese text at bottom of case front translates to "Railroad Clock." White porcelain dial marked w/bold black numerals w/second numerals in five second increments. Dial has small "F.E. Roskopf" name and patent number at top center w/"Legitimo" name at bottom center. Original crown. Scattered lt. case wear w/tiny indents to case rim between 5 and 6 o'clock w/tiny chip to edge of crystal. Some tarnishing to inner rims. Running and Fine/VF overall.
