Item Description
2x3.25". "Shoeless" Joe Jackson is considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the game and many believe he was punished unjustly in the famous "Black Sox" scandal. For this reason, he has been kept out of the Baseball Hall Of Fame. However, his skills on the field have never been in question and his popularity continues to soar to this day. Due to his banishment from baseball following the 1920 season, Jackson was only featured in a small number of mainstream sets up to that point. This regional issue was labeled with a 1921 date but more recent research shows this type 1 back signifies it as a 1920 issue, which makes it the final card issued while Joe Jackson was still playing Major League Baseball. This is by far one of the rarest Jackson collectibles in existence. Few examples are known to exist and this is the only PSA graded example currently in the census. The card has several creases, but none that impede the portrait of Jackson. A true rarity.
