Item Description
19-3/8x24-3/8" beautifully crafted custom frame holds single-sided 11x17" paper poster printed by The Kemble Company for The National Salvage Effort in 1942. Poster features four-color image of Superman in flight w/"Superman Says Salvage Speeds Victory - Reclaiming Metals - Paper - Rags - Rubber - Fats - Will Being A Quicker End To The Axis" text w/large handwritten text for drive to take place at "Vail Field Sat. 9-4." Teacher's inkstamp at lower left corner. Folded into quarters as issued, poster remains exceptionally clean and VF overall. Poster is further enhanced by great frame created by artist Dan Makara, featuring collage style utilizing various World War II era items, including ration stamps, vintage pinback buttons (including 1.25" dia. "Supermen Of America" club button and classic "To Hell With Hitler" button), badges, matchpacks and skull and crossbones pin. Frame is further complimented by the inclusion of 13 Manoil and Barclay cast soldier figures, including soldier holding American flag at top center.
