Item Description
Kit No. 426-98. ©1963 Universal Pictures Co., Inc. This is an original second issue box. Production of the original issue of the Hunchback box (see previous item #1997) was halted in 1965 after objections were raised by actor Anthony Quinn, who complained the box art bore a definite likeness to his portrayal of the character in the 1956 film. The art was replaced w/this modified art featuring the Hunchback w/shaggier hair. Box remains factory-sealed w/original cellophane wrap, which has a few tiny pieces of clear tape (repairing small snags) on right side panel and lt. corner tip wear, but box o/w remains tightly sealed. Box is VF/Exc. overall. Parts remain complete w/instruction sheet and unused as factory-sealed. Mint.
