Item Description
11x13" thin cardboard single-sided sign issued to promote June 30, July 3-4 events at the 1940 New York World's Fair. Triptych design includes June 30th events that included miniature speedboat and model auto racing as well as the National Marble Championship. July 3rd was "Superman Day" and center features nice image of Superman w/Trylon and Perisphere in bkg. Text notes "Field Of Special Events" as well as "Contests - Prizes - Parade." This day offered special 10¢ admission price for children. July 4th features patriotic display and notes there would be a reading of the Declaration of Independence. 5/8" tear at lower left and .5" tear at upper left margin. 5/8" tear at upper right and .5" tear at lower right margin. Sign has evenly aged and shows some lt. scattered wear along top margin. Fine overall but still nice for display. Very rare and only the second example we've offered in our 50 years.
