Item Description
8x19.75" contract marked "National Football League - Standard Players Contract" at top between the Cleveland Browns Inc. and player Charles Harris for Harris being paid $7,000. Contract has been signed twice in blue ink by Harris as well as NFL Commissioner Bert Bell (1895-1959), who served as commissioner from 1945 until his death in 1959. As commissioner, he introduced competitive parity into the NFL to improve the league's commercial viability and promote its popularity, and he helped make the NFL the most financially sound sports enterprise and preeminent sports attraction in the US. Contract has been dated Nov. 29, 1956 to Jan. 10, 1957 and is folded as issued. Some scattered lt. margin wear but VF overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
