Item Description
This game came in different sized boxes (see following item #1772) and this is larger 8-5/8x15.5x1.75" deep size. Box contains early 1940s game by Milton Bradley, ©Superman Inc. Lid features great art of Superman leaping over buildings while side panels feature different small action images of him. Printed directions on underside of lid. Box shows some scattered wear w/some rippling to lid's surface paper and corner tip/edge wear but box retains original gloss. Small color touch-up along bottom left edge of lid. Fine/VF overall. Contents include 13x16.5" gameboard w/center scene showing Perry White at desk next to vacant desk of Clark Kent. This is surrounded by repeated small images of Superman breaking chains and Clark Kent. Game was produced in other versions (see following item #1772). This version comes w/die-cut cardboard Superman playing pieces (other version came w/standard wooden playing pieces to represent Superman). These double-sided playing pieces have some lt. creasing at ankles but are complete w/original wooden bases. Playing pieces are VF while gameboard is Exc. Franco Toscanini Collection.
