Item Description
8.5x13-3/8" artboard w/mixed media original art for three "Mighty Mouse" trading cards, w/hand-lettered notation "(Actual Size)." 1950s. Art does not indicate by name but was produced for Post who had other Gold designed premiums and also produced a similar pop-out card set for Roy Rogers. Artboard features art for three "standard" design trading cards, first featuring large "Mighty Mouse" logo and image of him in flight. Second card is labeled "Mighty Mouse Fights An Alligator" while third card is labeled "Mighty Mouse To The Rescue," showing him rescuing mouse from canoe going over edge of waterfall. Artboard has some pencil notation and some scattered aging/dust soiling, but art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/pair of "pop-up" mixed media original art prototype cards featuring very similar images from first and third "standard" card designs. These both have two vertical creases w/edge of Mighty Mouse image cut-out, to give "pop-up" effect when cards are folded. Hand-lettered text/instructions. Flying Mighty Mouse card has some paperclip rust soiling and is Fine overall while waterfall card is Exc. A very unique item for Mighty Mouse and non-sports card collectors. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
