Item Description
5.5x9" single-sided paper sign issued to show Whelan Drug Store's support of The United States Treasury's War Savings Stamp Program, which awarded one 10¢ war stamp for every 10 punches received on "Comic Savers Card" punch card. Sign announces "Superman Comic Magazines Are Available At All Whelan Drug Stores." Top has three repeated scenes of classic image of Superman breaking chains w/"On Radio - In Newspapers - In Theaters" text underneath. Sign has .5" corner of surface paper lift at bottom right but remains bright and clean. VF/Exc. Rare and the only example we've offered in our 50 years. Franco Toscanini Collection.
