Item Description
22-1/8x24-1/8" thin cardboard poster for undated 1954 performance. Poster was printed by Globe Poster of Baltimore, MD and features photo image of Armstrong at bottom right, playing trumpet. Headline reads "In Person!" w/additional text "Louis Armstrong - And His World Renowned Combo - Featuring Barney Bigard - Velma Middleton - Kenny John - Arvil S. Shaw - Billy Kyle - Trummy Young." Though poster is undated, Kenny John only played drums w/Armstrong for eight months in 1954. Unused marquee at top has been trimmed and top/left margins have five .25" tack pulls. Moisture stain at bottom center 4x12" tall that is noticeable on reverse but barely visible on front. Age toning and wear consistent w/being used outdoors. VG. A rare survivor.
