Item Description
Cardboard box w/illustrated lid (and printed interior listing gun name, Kilgore and "Shoots Kilgore Disc Mammoth Caps" note) contains 10" long cast iron cap gun w/nickel finish and Tenite plastic stag grips w/incised and painted "Long Tom" name. First model by Kilgore, c. 1938-1945. Box has even moderate aging and some corner tip/edge wear but remains free of splits. Fine overall. "Long Tom" name remains strong on both grips. Gun works and cylinder revolves. Gun shows use w/moderate oxidation on cap-firing surface of cylinder and hammer. Fine overall. Considered one of the best cast iron cap guns. Scarce as boxed.
