Item Description
"Maakies" was a syndicated weekly comic strip by Tony Millionaire that began publication in Feb. 1994 in the "New York Press." It ran in many American alternative news weeklies and several international venues before ceasing publication in Dec. 2016. Offered here is 7.5x17" artboard w/Millionaire's pen and ink original art featured in four main panels, showing old man (wearing "I Survived The Battle Of Gettysburg - And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt" shirt pouring over history books and magazines, lamenting "Sigh... I Was Born In The Wrong Century" before hearing a clip-clop noise from outside. Excited and guessing as to what kind of horse drawn wagon is producing the noise "A Stage? A Buckboard? A Coach For Four?" before final panel shows dominatrix in high heels walking her gagged and submissive partner while cracking a whip. Secondary "A Great Day!" strip at bottom has seven panels features "Maakies" regulars Uncle Gabby and Drinky Crow making jokes about popular sayings. Millionaire has signed art at lower right. Some adhesive residue along top margin on back as once mounted, but art remains clean and NM.
