Item Description
23x29.25" Strathmore artboard has pen and ink original art for Feb. 21, 1926 Sunday page that has been nicely hand-colored w/watercolors. Art by "The Bungle Family" creator Harry J. Tuthill. Art includes large, page-wide panel at top showing dog sniffing trail in snow at left w/George Bungle peering back at the scene from the right. This topper panel has been completely hand-colored and has large grease pencil date (w/correction). Main panel art is divided from topper panel by title and artist paste-overs, along w/"Oh Well It's Experience, Anyhow" subtitle paste-over. Page features 12 panels, showing George volunteering to take dinner guest's dog for a walk, only to lose said dog and enter a comical cycle of searching for and bringing home multiple dogs that look like the missing canine, only to drag them all to the dinner guest's house for positive identification, for guest to tell him that the correct dog came home earlier in the evening. Art has been signed by Tuthill in last panel. Artboard shows obvious margin wear w/tears and chips evident along top/bottom margins, w/a few slightly infringing upon art, but not overly distracting. Artboard is Good/VG overall, but art remains clean and could easily be matted for a Fine display.
